RE: Mid Atlantic Group 2nd ELK NECK MD RALLY Sept. 26-28,2008

Lledman ~ Go over the Key bridge. Will take you about 3 hours from Mechanicsville. Very easy to get to actually. Not sure what time we are leaving on Friday. Can't decide if we want our daughter to miss a day of Preschool to leave early or just wait til 1ish to leave.

RE: 3rd Annual NY HTT Rally July 31 - August 2, 2009.

Hey Joe!
You're on a far-a-way thread baby.
Bring your big old rig up here next year!
Never know where I'll end up. We don't plan many trips a year, we just go at the last second. that's one reason I haven't signed up for anything for next year yet. Only been out like 3 weekends this year so far.
Not sure if we would want to go that far from home, but never know what could happen.

RE: Mid Atlantic Group 2nd ELK NECK MD RALLY Sept. 26-28,2008

We won't be going to Shady. We are also getting there on Friday after driving 3 hours, don't really want to drive another 80 miles round trip on Saturday to just turn around again on Sunday to drive another 3 hours back home. If we wanted to eat there that bad, we'd just camp up there.
I'm sure you all will enjoy your meal there though.
We would like to see Robo on this trip though!!!!

Those are REAL campers! Who needs trailers and AC and bathrooms............. I hope they weren't in the tent when the storm came by.

I wondered why they did not head out to the Wal-Mart for another tent.
can't afford the gas to get to walmart and probably more comfortable to sleep in the van then a tent anyways.. :)

Tracey is a little north, but us here in the south got the rain pretty good for about an hour. Now stopped and dried up.

RE: 2009 Mid-Atlantic Killens Pond Gathering Apr 3-5 2009

Point Lookout is nice. I think site wise, there more room than Killens Pond. Only issue is that it's pretty close to sea level so when it rains alot there is standing water which is nice for the bugs.

RE: 2009 Mid-Atlantic Killens Pond Gathering Apr 3-5 2009

We had D2.. According to Tina, they did cut down alot of trees and as of yesterday at 11, they were planning on cutting down another big one on D1. We had friends that stayed in that site and were asked what time they were planning on leaving so they could cut it down before the next campers get there.
I agree though, I would not be able to argue with Robo.. We have pictures of how things start, he just hasn't published the pictures of how that battle ended yet.. :)

RE: 2009 Mid-Atlantic Killens Pond Gathering Apr 3-5 2009

Killens was an okay campground in my book. Don't like how the sites behind us were so close. We came back into the campground one day and I took the tag off my rear view mirror and held it out the window so the lady to could that we were allowed in and she kind of rudely said "You aren't supposed to take that off your mirror". I was so caught off guard that I didn't say that I was just trying to help her because there is no way she could have seen it with my GPS being in the window below my mirror. Only thing I could get out was "ok"
While checking in, there were 2 ladies there at the desk, one was checking us in and doing her thing so I was talking to my father and friend that came camping with us and the other lady rudely interupted us and said, "There will be no picking up of sticks or anything else in this campground". We kinda just looked at her and said ok. That was all the words that came out of that lady's mouth. Not, hi, hows the weather, how's life. Just about the sticks.
The state fair was alot of fun and not very busy on Sunday. Just HOT. So we went in the morning and then went back to the camper (5-10 mins away) to cool off and went back at night. And still, my kids did not have to wait in any lines to get on the rides. Longest line was getting water.
So, all in all, we will probably be back next year for the fair.

RE: camping near Gaylord Natl Resort washington DC

Either campground that has been suggested, traffic to the hotel will probably be a pain if you are not used to DC traffic. No way in the world I would stay in a camper in the parking lot even if you could in that area. I too grew up in that general area and go the heck out.
If it were me and I REALLY wanted to go to the conference, I'd probably stay in Alexandria and drive over. Traffic from where rt1 in VA hits the beltway to the bridge is half a mile. And the conference center is just across the bridge on the right.
That is my 2 cents.

RE: Mid Atlantic Group 2nd ELK NECK MD RALLY Sept. 26-28,2008

We purchased our current Dutchmen from a dealer in Arkansas because it saved me alot of money. My Roo I had before I purchased from a dealer in Ohio. I had that a year and no warranty work needed. My current, it's not a big issue just a few lights outside won't work. But for the savings, was worth it.

RE: Mid Atlantic Group 2nd ELK NECK MD RALLY Sept. 26-28,2008

I'd love to put the new chairs in the camper, but I just got word that after being in the shop for the last 10-days, they haven't even looked at it yet.
That sucks! But atleast they will look at it. I called a few up in that area and was told they only service what they sell. So I guess if they do sell it, it still takes weeks for them to look at it. So what is one to do?
